Virgin Atlantic: Booking Updates
10 July 2025
Changes to how you book a special meal:
Effective immediately, we’ve made an important update to one of our special meal options. The meal previously listed as the Asian Vegetarian Meal is now called the Hindu Vegetarian Meal (AVML) across all routes. We also offer the Hindu Non-Vegetarian Meal (HNML). Finally, if your customer is travelling in Economy to/from India, both AVML and HNML will be available onboard, so there’s no need to pre-book these meals in advance.

Update on fare upgrades and reissue policy:
We’ve made a change to the fares available that can be upgraded and reissued. Previously, all fare types were eligible for upgrade and reissue. However, from 1st July 2025, only selected fare types will qualify for upgrades and reissues.
We recommend checking the fare rules at the time of booking to see if your ticket is eligible.

Customer Contact Details:
A reminder that IATA Resolution 830d requires agents to actively ask passengers if they’d like their contact details (mobile and/or email) shared with Virgin Atlantic and other airlines in their itinerary. This allows us to provide essential updates on delays, cancellations, schedule changes, and important pre-travel requirements. If a passenger declines to share their contact details, please inform them that they may miss important flight information. Guidance on SSR details can be found in section 22 of the booking policy.
