Travel Ideas Publishing (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2017/383756/07), trading as The GSA, is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

We collect information you give us directly when you register, sign in, enter competitions, take part in surveys, contact us, comment in editorial threads, or supply reviews. This typically includes your name, work email address, telephone number, and the name of the company or agency you trade under.

Marketing communications
Trade registration opts you in to receive industry newsletters, magazine notifications, trade event invitations, educational announcements, and surveys. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by writing to marketing@the-gsa.co.za.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not pass it to advertisers. We may share it with:
- Service providers who help us run the site (hosting, analytics, email delivery), bound by their own privacy obligations
- Authorities, where we are required to do so by law
- Anonymised, aggregated audience statistics shared with advertisers and trade partners (these contain no personal data)
How long we keep your information
We retain personal information for as long as your trade account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure to handle legal obligations, accounting, and dispute resolution.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to object to direct marketing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email webadmin@the-gsa.co.za.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential.
Children
The GSA is a business-to-business directory for the travel trade. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has registered with us, please email webadmin@the-gsa.co.za and we will remove the account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with the “last updated” date at the top.
